Set , Sculpt & Strobe with Misslyn !

Hey there ! Hope you are all doing good ! Today let’s begin with some interesting stuffs. We all love the sculpted look with no double chin, no big fat nose, and so on… We do know all this can be done with contouring or sculpting, without workouts !

Today, lets begin our beauty class with some of the amazing misslyn products, which I have personally tried & tested and hence I bring the same for you all. 

We are going to need three products only , with the brush of your choice. Let’s begin.

1. MISSLYN MAKE IT LAST FOREVER, Matte fixing Powder :

This is a transparent powder ideal for fixing and mattifying the makeup.  Though, it looks white in color, it sets the makeup very well, and doesn’t leave a white cast on your face, even in flash photography. If you feel that your face is oily, just swirl your brush in, and set it on your face. 

Note : It is always better to dab the oil on your T-zone using a blotting sheet or a sponge or a tissue and then set it with powder. That’s it! It stays matte and fixed for good  5- 6 hours, which is a pretty decent time. 

Now that your face is fully set, and now lets move on to the next step. 

2. MISSLYN BRONZING & CONTOURING POWDER :

The bronzing & contouring powder looks like the BEACH Edition. What ??? Yes, to have a natural tan , this powder gives the perfect sunny summer vibes, resulting it to be very natural.

The best part is they look great on both cool  & warm  undertones. You can use it like a bronzer, on a casual day. Or the perfect contouring technique, 

• Right below your hairline at the top of your forehead.
• On the right and left sides of your forehead, near your hairline on either side.
• Along the right and left sides of your nose.
• In the hollows of your cheeks (to find them, suck your cheeks in).
• Along your jawline on both sides, from your ears to the tip of your chin.

So, our face looks sculpted, and the last step is to highlight ! And this is an exciting step for all of us, because, we want the glow baby !!!

3. MISSLYN GLOW FOR IT! STROBING POWDER :

An illuminating strobing powder , accentuating and enhancing , the fine light reflecting pearls, refresh a dull looking complexion for a naturally looking radiance. 

This highlighter or a strobing powder, is the perfect one that compliments all skin tones . Remember to use the highlighter in the spots that catch the light, on your cheekbones, along your temples, down the bridge of your nose, below your brow bone, in the corners of your eyes, and above your cupid’s bow. This will enhance your natural features. Don’t spread the product all over your face, or else your glow will turn into a greasy mess. If you have oily skin, skip areas like your forehead or chin, which have a little shine already.

Tip : After you’ve applied the highlighter, blend it out with your fingers, a fan brush, or a damp makeup sponge. To avoid blobs of product and obvious makeup lines, make sure you blend any harsh edges of highlighter so it fades into the rest of your skin.

Review : Max Factor Color Elixir Lipsticks

Hey my loves, today I am back with another pretty lipsticks from Max Factor. This is the first time ever I tried these lipsticks, and I’m shocked to see myself getting addicted to it. To know more, why I’ll love ? please keep reading !

These are the MAX FACTOR COLOR ENRICH LIPSTICKS. In addition to this, I will also be reviewing their VELVET MATTE LIPSTICK.

PACKAGING : Max Factor Color Elixir Lipstick come in a glossy gold body. the packaging is really good. The lipstick case comes with the color of the lipstick at the bottom. They also have the name and the code number of the shade printed at the bottom. The cap clicks tight, and that makes it very travel friendly. Overall , the golden color gives it a very classy and stylish look.

Only one lipstick has a black case, but it looks so classy as well !

Now, lets look at the each shade !

From L to R : 25 Pink Blush , 825 Pink Brandy , 827 Bewitching Coral , 685 Mulberry.

Lipstick 685 Mulberry – As the name says, it is a pretty deep berry pink with hint of red undertones. It will suit well for all the skin tones. The lipstick is bright and doesn’t come out very deep as it looks in the tube. The shade has very fine shimmer particles on the tube which is really not noticeable on the lips, but it does help in adding a gorgeous sheen to the lips. 

Lipstick 827 Bewitching Coral – It is a pretty light coral shade, with a hint of pink & orange. It is such a flattering shade for summer especially. And the color would look great on fair and medium skin tones. For darker skin tones, pairing up with slightly darker lip liner will be really good. Or topping with other color and mixing two different colors can be a great choice of application. 

Lipstick 825 Pink Brandy – Oh, what can I say about this shade? A beautiful pink mauve shade, exceptionally good to wear for summer. This would absolutely go well on Fair, Medium and darker skin tones as well. It is a mid , not that too Barbie pink or very light one. You all know, wearing the perfect pink lipstick, is quite a hard choice, but this color adapts most of the skin tone.

Lipstick 25 Pink blush – If you want to have a moisturizing feel and matte finish for a striking lip look , then you for this ! Its a gorgeous dark pink color, that would look great on all skin tones. 

From Top to Bottom : 25 Pink Blush , 825 Pink Brandy , 827 Bewitching coral , 685 Mulberry.

TEXTURE: The lipstick has a very soft and creamy texture. It glides effortlessly on the lips.  Because of the creamy texture, you can easily skip a lip balm prior to application of this lipstick. 

The formula of the lipstick doesn’t settle onto fine lines or accentuate dryness on my lips. I really feel very light on my lips. And these lipsticks have faint vanilla fragrance, which fades slowly on application. 

WEAR ABILITY : All these lipsticks have a soft matte finish, and are infused with oils and butters and that the color glides smoothly across the lips. Is this accurate ? Its a resounding YES from me ! I found these very easy to apply. they don’t dry to that matte finish, that can leave you uncomfortable. Instead they dry to a soft sheen that allows you to move your lips without cracking. The colour pay off on the lip is just as pigmented as my arm swatches. So far so good. 

BEST TIPS FOR APPLICATION :

• Apply color to your lip brush from the base of your lipstick.
• Use the lip brush to fill in your lips.
• Blot with a tissue and reapply.
• Use Translucent powder between coats for longer lasting lipstick.  

Overall , The color stayed on my lips for about good 4 hours, without any touch ups. And this might differ from person to person. It feels very light on my lips, moisturizing ,with smooth and creamy formula.

Karaja Touche Pastel Blush Review

Hi Beauties,

I have never had the chance to try the Karaja Cosmetics before although I have been seeing their kiosk frequently, whenever I visit Lifestyle stores, Sahara Center. And when I had the chance to try their products, their eyebrow definer pencil and their Lash Lift Mascara was my absolute favorite.

Slowly, after many uses, I got hooked up to their wonder box eye shadow palette, which is quite good in pigmentation and wear ability. And today I have come up with their, duo Blush palette.

Although I am not a fan of blush, this one grabs my attention because of its subtle colour , making it perfect for the hot summers in UAE.

So, let’s start reading more about it.

Packaging: The blush comes in a Silver colored cardboard box with the name written on it. And that gives a nice touch to the packaging.

The blush comes in a glossy black square shaped pan, with a flip open. And it has got 2 different colors. A Lighter shade of pink and a darker peach. Both the colors are too cool for summer and they suit well for all the skin tones. It has a nice brush too.

Texture & Pigmentation: The texture of the palette is powdery. It lies somewhere between a satin and powdery finish. The pink and the dark peach have been finely milled and it doesn’t have any glitters in it, which is a big plus for me.

The Pigmentation is pretty decent. The colour is able to build up, so blending is important the right amount of colour, if not ending up in too much of colour on the cheeks.

Why I prefer? I absolutely love the colour of the blush. They are light, soft and can be used on a daily basis even for office wear. It gives a nice subtle glow and lovely tint of colour on your cheeks. I swirl the little brush in both the colors and apply it gently on my cheeks. Sometimes I prefer to use as two different blushes.

It stays good for about 4-5 hours maximum and then starts to fade. Since the product is quite pigmented, you do not need a lot of product. I would recommend using it small amount and building it up afterwards as per need.

I am not a blush junkie, but this is certainly special to me. I absolutely love the colors.

Dehydration, dryness , lack of radiance , no brightness is all that every lady, or woman will face now. So the same thing happened to me as well, I was looking out for a good moisturizer, that should satisfy my skin thirst as well as be the perfect makeup base too.

WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS ONE ? 

Finding that one go-to moisturizer that combines the perfect fit for your particular skin with a price tag you can live with has proven to be a lifelong quest for a lot of us.  Not to mention that once you do find one, you’re skin is likely to change and start needing something else.

Well if you’re one who doesn’t want to spend high-end department store prices on your everyday products, Sephora Intensive Instant Moisturizer might be something to look at.  Described as a light yet very moisturizing cream, it’s oil free and suitable for all skin types.  Of course, all moisturizers will be more compatible with some skin types than other.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE SEPHORA MOISTURIZER:

This moisturizer absorbs into my skin very nice and quick. It makes me feel soft and smooth. It goes on creamy and smooth into the skin immediately, without any greasiness. It leaves me hydrated the whole day.

I always apply this on my face before using foundation.  I use this as my night cream as well. I cleanse my skin and apply this before bed. If the skin is very dry, I feel a burning sensation when applied initially. But after a day or two, this moisturizer will make the skin smooth and free from dryness.

It is the best moisturizer I have ever tried. It is a very simple moisturizer with very subtle and clean scent. The fragrance is sweet and refreshing. When I apply this moisturizer, I feel moisturized the whole day. I also apply this to my hands. It feels very silky.

According to me, this product does a very good job for this price. Without a good moisturizer the foundation will also look very cakey and patchy. I feel it is a very good investment. 

The HYALURONIC ACID provides with instant radiance to the skin and makes the face well moisturized! And I have been using this for the past one whole month, it works very well.

Himalaya Herbals FAIRNESS CREAM Review

Hey my loves, hope you are all doing well ! Today I will be reviewing the Himalaya Herbals Natural Glow Fairness Cream ! I have never tried fairness cream in my life. This is the first time ever, trying out. I don’t believe in using the fairness cream from my original skin color to Absolute Fairness, which people commonly tend to misunderstand.

WHAT IS FAIRNESS CREAM ACCORDING TO ME ? 

 I use fairness cream as anti-blemish cream. I have observed that fairness creams can be used to reduce dark patches, scars and tan. But one must be careful while buying a fairness cream, because most of the creams use bleaching agents and other harmful chemicals to keep their promise of “visible fairness within a fortnight”, which can not be true. Himalaya herbal is a well-known brand which is famous for some really good products at much lower prices than some other high-end brands. I trust  Himalaya herbal!

WHAT DOES THE PRODUCT CLAIM ?

An advanced formula enriched with a Phyto-Vitamin complex, containing a combination of ALFA ALFA , SAFFRON and other essential vitamins. Alfaalfa & Saffron improve skin tone and brighten dull skin complexion. In combination these ingredients provide your skin with an even skin tone, nourishment and glow, naturally!

They say, 5 Visible Results in 4 weeks ( Sounds Amazing right !)

• Evens skin tone
• Helps reduce blemishes and dark spots
• Helps reduce under-eye dark circles
• Nourishes skin to keep it healthy

MY EXPERIENCE & WHY I LOVE THE PRODUCT?

The product comes in a standard Himalaya tube, with a green cap. The whole packaging is quite nice. The cream is white colored and smells awesome. It gives you a bright non-greasy, smooth finish like any other fairness cream. The cream is quite thick, but gets absorbed into skin easily.

    

This is how my skin looks, when applied generously .

However, my skin feels stretchy after applying the cream. So, I have to apply a lot of moisturizer along with the cream. I have combination to oily skin. This cream, however, lightens dark spots up-to some extent. Skin indeed looks fresh after application.

And i absolutely love the smell of this cream, the saffron smell makes me feel so fresh!

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THIS FAIRNESS CREAM ?

Almost all the fairness cream among the multiple brands have claims on their own, but when it comes to Himalaya, there are only 2 things.

1. Does not contain BLEACH 
2. Free from parabens.

WHAT I LIKE THE MOST ?

• The cream does not contain any bleaching agents or any harmful chemicals (at least they claim so).
• It is a herbal product.
• Makes skin look brighter.
• Absorbs quickly, leaving a non-greasy smooth finish.
• Smells wonderful!
• Lightens dark spots up-to certain extent.
• Pocket friendly 
• Nice, slim packaging.
• Since it is non-greasy and brightens your skin instantly, it can be a good makeup base.
• Another good thing about Himalaya as well as this product is that they do not test on animals.

WHAT I DO NOT LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT?

• It does not moisturize your skin . People with dry skin, should definitely use this along with a moisturizer.
• Does not contain SPF. A sunscreen must be used separately.
• Does not make you fair ! Just brightens up your skin tone, evens out by reducing the blemishes and dark spots. 

MY RATING FOR THIS PRODUCT : 4.7 / 5

WILL I REPURCHASE ?

Yes, definitely ! This has become my go-to product. I prefer to apply on my face and set it with light dusting of my favorite MAC Select sheer pressed powder. Skin feels amazing.

MY LOVE FOR THIS PRODUCT : I always love product which is east to use, even on the go! And so is this. Very slim, chic and simple packaging. The right color for my eyebrows. I don’t have to have various brushes , brow gel or spooly separately ! This pencil is like a magic which defines your brows well, fills the sparse areas, and makes your eyebrow thick.

Because of the special formula, its heat resistant which means, setting the brows with a brow gel need not be a necessary step. This seems like a magic charm for me and works well for me. 

For your better understanding, i have also posted a before and after using this pencil on my eyebrows. 

As you can see in this ” Before”, my eyebrows are not defined, thin and sparse.

In the “After” picture  filling it with the KARAJA EYEBROW 2 pencil.

I definitely love the way it fills my brows, easily and I totally recommend this for the beginners as well as the office goers who do not have much time to fill in the brows, and work with them and yet they want their brows  to be sharp and bold !

MAC LAUNCHED A FRAGRANCE COLLECTION INSPIRED BY ITS MOST ICONIC LIPSTICKS!

So, everyone has been talking about something called Shadescents and its all over on the instagram, facebook, blogs, everywhere!

3….2…..1, here we go !

“Fragrance and “MAC Cosmetics” may not be two beauty keywords frequently associated together, but MAC appears to be trying to change that with Shadescents, a range of six fragrances inspired by and named after six of its most iconic Lipstick shades.

Brand fanatics will know that this isn’t actually MAC’s first foray into fragrance! Turquatic, a classic ocean – inspired scent, and the company’s take on floral, Air of style, launched in 2005 and 2007, respectively. However shadescents goes in a completely different direction and is the first range that takes direct inspiration from a makeup product.

This entire collection was launched during the holiday season ( I am already late, I know !!!)

The shadescents collection comes with six perfumes inspired by six of their most iconic lip colors.

They re-launched the lipsticks with special limited-edition packaging in tinted caps to match the lipsticks themselves along with color-coordinated fragrances.

The scents are all EAU DE PARFUMS and they are priced at $57 / AED 295 each for 50ml / 1.7 fl oz. The lipsticks are $17 each / AED 104 for 3g/0.1 oz with special edition packaging.

The six options include

• Heroine (purple, matte),
•  Ruby Woo (deep red, retro matte),
• Lady Danger (bright coral red, matte),
• Candy Yum-Yum (bright neon pink,matte),
• Velvet Teddy (neutral nude, matte) and
• Crème d’Nude (pale beige, cremesheen).

Crème d’Nude  – The Scent is described as an amber velvet musk which I find accurate.

Velvet Teddy – The scent is described as oriental amber with wild honey and creamy musk. This is definitely a sweet honey like scent with a bit of spice. If you like honey scents this will be right up your alley. The spice notes are prominent giving it a velvety feel.

Candy Yum Yum – The scent is extremely sweet described as fruity floral gourmand with pink guava

Lady Danger – The scent is described as a woody oriental floral with patchouli. It’s very spicy and masculine with a strong incense kind of vibe.

Ruby Woo –  The scent  is described as a woody floral. This has leather notes that makes it even deeper and more dramatic than Lady Danger.

Heroine  – The scent is described as woody leather with a primal feel. It’s the most masculine scent out of the lineup.

Overall a really interesting concept. I do think the creators of this collection managed to capture the lipstick in a scent that made sense. Scents are so personal and everyone has different tastes so I do not think these will be everyone’s cup of tea. My favorite is Ruby Woo but my husband is not a fan of it on me. If you’re near a MAC Store I’d recommend you definitely give these a look. They’re worth checking out and it’s always fun to play at the freestanding stores. If anything I love the special edition packaging of the lip colors – I’m tempted to buy velvet teddy .The color-coordinated caps and black base are so sleek and pretty!
